Mobile Vet Care & House Calls

For some pets and families, a house call is simply the better option. Agave Grove Animal Hospital offers mobile veterinary care throughout North Scottsdale, Carefree, Cave Creek, and the surrounding communities, bringing wellness examinations, vaccinations, laboratory sample collection, senior care, and end-of-life visits to the comfort of your home.

House calls reduce stress for cats who dislike travel, dogs who become anxious in a hospital setting, senior pets with limited mobility, and multi-pet households. They can also be a convenience for owners with busy schedules or mobility considerations of their own. Because our hospital is nearby, any care that requires hospital equipment can be arranged without repeating your pet’s history with a new provider.

Services Available at Home

Care Provided at the Hospital

Surgery, dental procedures, radiographs and ultrasound, any procedure requiring anesthesia, and emergencies are provided at the hospital. If a house call identifies a concern that requires hospital care, we will schedule it for you and your pet’s records will already be in place.

How a House Call Works

Once your appointment window is scheduled, we confirm the day before, and the doctor arrives with the equipment needed for the visit. We recommend having your pet in a quiet room, away from other animals if possible, with a towel or their bed nearby. A house call takes approximately the same amount of time as a hospital appointment. Payment is collected at the end of the visit, and your pet’s records are updated in the same medical file used at the hospital.

Service Area

We provide house calls throughout North Scottsdale, Carefree, Cave Creek, The Boulders, Desert Mountain, Troon North, Terravita, Anthem, and nearby areas. If you live outside these communities, please contact us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a house call cost more than a hospital visit?

A travel fee applies in addition to the usual examination and service charges. Travel fees are based on distance from the hospital and are quoted when you schedule.

Is it the same veterinarian I would see at the hospital?

Yes. Whether the visit takes place at home or at the hospital, your pet is seen by the same doctor and has a single medical record.

Can an emergency be handled at home?

No. A pet who is struggling to breathe, bleeding heavily, collapsed, or unable to urinate needs immediate hospital care. Please call us during hospital hours, or contact a 24-hour emergency hospital after hours: VetMED Emergency & Specialty Veterinary Hospital in Phoenix, (602) 697‑4694; BluePearl Pet Hospital in Scottsdale, (480) 949‑8001; or Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists North Scottsdale, (480) 409‑3764. Emergency hospital information is also listed on our contact page.

How far in advance should I schedule?

Routine house calls are scheduled on designated days. Urgent and end-of-life visits are accommodated as quickly as the schedule allows, often the same or the following day.
