Welcome to Agave Grove Animal Hospital. Whether you have a new puppy or kitten, a cat who finds veterinary visits stressful, or a senior dog with an extensive medical history, we look forward to getting to know you and your pet. The information below will help you prepare for your first visit.
Before We Open
We are not yet scheduling appointments. If you would like to be notified when the hospital opens and when online scheduling becomes available, please leave your email address at the bottom of this page.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
- A conversation about your pet. We will review your pet’s history, diet, lifestyle, and any concerns you may have.
- A comprehensive examination, performed at a pace that keeps your pet as comfortable as possible. Learn more about our wellness exams.
- Personalized recommendations. We will explain our findings, discuss any recommended care, and answer your questions before anything is scheduled.
- Same-day care when appropriate, from vaccinations to in-house diagnostics.
What to Bring
- Previous medical records, or the name of your previous veterinary clinic so that we can request them
- A list of your pet’s current medications, supplements, and diet
- A fresh stool sample, if one has been requested
- Cats in a secure carrier, ideally one left out at home for a few days beforehand; dogs on a leash
- Any questions or concerns you would like to discuss
Anxious Pets
If your pet becomes anxious at the veterinarian, please let us know when scheduling. We can arrange a quieter appointment time, bring you directly into an exam room, and, when appropriate, prescribe medication to be given before the visit to help your pet feel more at ease. For some pets, a house call may be the most comfortable option.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service. For any care beyond the examination, we provide a written estimate in advance so that you can make an informed decision. Accepted payment methods and financing options will be listed here before we open.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I transfer my pet’s records?
Provide the name of your previous clinic and we will request the records on your behalf, or forward any copies you have once our email address is published. Vaccination records and recent bloodwork are the most helpful.
Do you accept pet insurance?
Pet insurance in the United States reimburses you directly. We provide itemized invoices and will complete any claim forms your insurer requires.
Will my pet see the same veterinarian at each visit?
Yes. Elaina Volpe, DVM, sees every patient, both in the hospital and on house calls, so that your pet’s care benefits from continuity.
